Juanito “John” Guerra, 68, Altus, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Private family services will be held at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Joseph David officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Juanito “John” Guerra was born on December 6, 1951 in Parkin, Arkansas to Eleno and Alicia (Gil) Guerra. He married Mary (Garcia) on April 6, 1970 in Altus, Oklahoma. John worked as a licensed plumber for many years in the Altus area. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and enjoyed dancing, singing, telling jokes and spending time with his family.
His parents, a sister, Angie Calderon, and three brothers-in-law, Lalo Calderon, Sherwood Robertson and Eliseo Rodriguez, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; a daughter, Sabrina Guerra; two grandchildren, Brianna Ortiz and husband, Raul, and Adrian Flores; a great granddaughter, Marcela Ortiz, and a great grandson on the way, Gabriel Ortiz; and eight brothers and sisters, Raul Guerra and wife, Irene, Mary Rodriguez, Irma Robertson, Arturo Guerra and wife, Stella, Richard Guerra and wife, Esther, Armando Guerra and wife, Henrietta, Robert Guerra and wife, Debbie, and Oscar Guerra.
Due to the city’s Covid mandate, only 50 persons are allowed to be inside the building and masks will be required.
