Kalyn Dyan Huey, age 23, Altus, lost her brave battle with lupus Friday evening, April 15, 2011 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Life tribute services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Kincannon Funeral Home. A reception will follow in Kincannon’s Gathering Room. Graveside tribute services will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Canadian Valley Cemetery north of Calumet, Oklahoma. Kalyn D. Huey was born August 14, 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to David and Kittie (Moberly) Huey. She attended Altus Public Schools and graduated in 2006. Kalyn worked in her father’s optometry office in Altus. She enjoyed drawing, art, going to the New Mexico mountains with family and animals. She loved her cocker spaniel “Blythe” and her cat “Snarky.” Kalyn was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bernie Moberly; her paternal grandmother, Norma Huey and her paternal grandfather, Gerald David Huey. Kalyn is survived by her parents, David and Kittie Huey of Altus, OK; sister, Megan Emhoff and husband Seth, and their daughter Ella Hope Emhoff, all of Bowie, Maryland; grandmother, Charlotte Moberly of Altus, OK; aunts, Susan Amstutz and husband Mark of Disney, OK; Lisa Buckner of McAlester, OK; Julie Adair of Mesa, AZ; uncle, Ben Huey of McAlester, OK; cousins, Derek Nunn, Andrea Nunn, Jason Buckner, Derrick Huey, Laurel Adair, Blake Adair and many friends. The Huey family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Kincannon Funeral Home’s Gathering Room.
