Katherine B. Bryce, 93, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 12, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Margie VanOostrum officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Katherine Bradley was born on October 10, 1921 in Olustee, Oklahoma to Dave and Daisy (Thrash) Bradley. She graduated from the Olustee High School in 1939 and attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford. Katherine married Eugene Bryce on February 22, 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He passed away on May 20, 2014. She worked part time at the Cotton Classing office from 1942 until 1974. Katherine also worked for the Jackson County Tax Assessor's Office from 1963 until retiring in 1985 as the Second Deputy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Western Prairie Good Sam's Club. She loved to play cards and games with friends and family. Her husband, parents, a great granddaughter, Heather Bryce, and a brother-in-law, Loyd Kendall, preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, David Bryce and wife, Karen, of Altus, OK; a grandson, Gene Bryce and wife, Patricia, of Altus, OK; a granddaughter, Connie Slaton and husband, David, of Mangum, OK; great grandson, Gene David Bryce and wife, Stephanie, of Oklahoma City, OK; seven great granddaughters, Rachael Paxton of Mangum, OK, Kelly Johns and husband, Jarod, of Duncan, OK, Johnna Phelps of Altus, OK, Caley Slaton of Mangum, OK, Brittany Forster and husband, Steve, of Martha, OK and Emily Edwards and husband, Jeff, of Hydro, OK; eight great great grandchildren, Madyson and Bryce Paxton of Mangum, OK, Sawyer and Sutton Bryce of Oklahoma City, OK, Eli Johns of Duncan, OK, Hunter Miranda and Brooklynn Forster of Martha, OK, and Landry Hill of Hydro, OK; her sister, Frances Kendall of Altus, OK; two brothers-in-law, Henry Hartsell and Warren "Corky" Bryce and wife, Irma, all of Altus, OK; and numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 317 N. Main Street, Altus, OK 73521.
