Kathleen “Kay” Riley, Altus, 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Kathleen Delia Prestridge was born on October 20, 1921 to Earl Richard and Ethel Nora (Watson) Prestridge in Anna, Texas. She graduated from Ozark High School. While in high school, she was a member of the basketball, tennis and softball teams. Kay and Wilson “Fronie” Riley were united in marriage on April 6, 1942 in Altus, OK. They were married for sixty five years at the time of his death. Kay and Fronie knew each other, dated and were married for 70 years. When she was almost fifteen years of age, she saw him and remarked to a friend, “I’m going to marry him.” Kay served as President for one year in the Jackson County Home Demonstration Club. She was Manager and Assistant Manager for the Red River Federal Credit Union for seventeen years. She worked for four years for Military Enlistment Processing Command, from 1979 to 1983. Kay was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, served as Secretary and Treasurer of Willing Workers Sunday School, and was a member of the Fifty and Better Choir. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and sister–in-law, Ray and Susie Riley, a sister, Aubrey Prestridge-Smith, three brothers-in-law, Terrell Riley, Jr., Floyd Riley and Jerry Riley; and a sister-in-law, Helen Riley. She is survived by two sons, Don Riley and wife, Donna, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Richard Riley and wife, Robbie, of Altus, Oklahoma; a sister, Sue Castell; two brothers-in-law, Francis Riley of Duke, OK and Dub Riley of Kamay, TX; one sister-in-law, Artie Riley of California; five grandchildren, Cody Riley and wife, Kodie, Katie Dowden and husband, Nathan, Courtney and Walt Duncan of Altus, OK , Ryan Riley of Scottsdale, AZ, and Jamey Riley of California, one great-grandson, Canyon Dowden; and two great-granddaughters, Courtney Riley of California and Brenna Duncan of Altus, OK; as well as several nieces and nephews. The Riley family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
