Kaye Lou Meyer, 84, passed away in Flower Mound, TX, on January 2, 2025, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Enid, OK on March 4, 1940, to Melvin and Viola Schwedland.
Kaye grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1958. She married Billy Max Francis, and they soon started a family and raised three children in Enid. Once the kids graduated from high school, Kaye began working at Central National Bank in Enid. She retired from the bank in 2002.
Kaye loved her family immensely, especially her grandchildren. She would often take her grandkids for a long weekend or meet up with them on vacations. Each of her grandchildren would say how much she deeply affected their lives as a constant guiding force. She always put the needs of others before her own.
In 2008, Kaye met Roger Meyer, and they married on March 14, 2009. They spent their time together touring the country in their motor home. They traveled everywhere from the northern tip of Alaska to the southernmost point in Texas. They spent their summers in Gunnison, CO and their winters in Weslaco, TX, enjoying the great outdoors. Perhaps her greatest passions in life were fishing and baking. She excelled at both, just ask anyone!
Kaye is survived by her husband, Roger Meyer of Altus, OK, and her twin sister, Faye Sarfaty (Ric) of Fountain Valley, CA. She is also survived by her daughter, Teri Francis of Hammond, LA, son, Billy Francis II (Kim) of Flower Mound, TX, as well as two stepsons, Dan Meyer (Judith) of Colorado Springs, CO and Ken Meyer (Deanna) also of Colorado Springs, CO. She leaves behind five grandchildren (Travis, Brooke, Andrew, Brett, and Ryan) and three step grandchildren (Jesse, Derek, and Silvia), five great-grandchildren (Brayden, Kiara, Madelyn, Mason and Liam), and two step great-grandchildren (Brantly and Briley), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Kaye is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Joyce Thompson and Melvena Randle, and her daughter, Tami (Shawn) Waller.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the many medical providers that cared for Kaye during her illness, and especially the staff at Rosewood Assisted Living in Flower Mound, TX. The care, support, and unmatched compassion they showed during her final days will never be forgotten. The family will hold a private celebration of life in Altus, OK. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Kaye’s memory.
