Kendell Gene “Ken” Buckner, 83, Blair, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Altus, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Anthony Lester and B. J. Armstrong officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Blair Cemetery. Services are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Ken was born on July 15, 1937 in Lone Grove, Oklahoma to A.E. and Grace (Simmons) Buckner. He attended Martha School in Martha, Oklahoma and married the love of his life, Gladys Decker, on October 31, 1957 in Mangum. Ken and Gladys made their home in Blair. He was a builder by trade and built homes and cellars all over SW Oklahoma. Later, he was the custodian at Blair School before his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed fishing for catfish at Lake Altus and Elk Creek, but he especially enjoyed time with family and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Harlon Buckner; sisters Florence Cox and Christine Atwood; and granddaughter, Kendra Edwards.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; daughters, Tammy Buckner and Sandi Buckner; son, Lonnie Buckner and wife, Freda; five grandchildren, Crystal Edwards, Brandon Edwards and wife, Juliana, Rachel Johnson and husband, Jason, Sara Ball and husband, Todd, and Martae Buckner and partner, Quamaine Williams; six great grandchildren, Kaden, Kylie, Da`Von, Isaiah, Hannah and Jaxon; and a brother, Darrell Buckner and wife, Elizabeth.
