Kenneth Nealy Jones Jr. of Altus, Oklahoma was born in Many, Louisiana. Kenneth lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and unwavering kindness. His career with the railroad took him many places, but no matter where he was, he left a lasting impact on the people he met. He loved his work and the friendships he built along the way.
At home, Kenneth loved watching movies and woodworking in his spare time. He had a deep love for coffee, and every morning, without fail, he brought a cup to his beloved wife, Rayla—his partner of almost 34 years.
Kenneth’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Rayla Jones; his son, Kenneth Nealy Jones III; and his daughter, Skylar Lynn Putnam, along with her husband, Richard Putnam, and their children, Addison, Thomas, and Olivia; as well as his father, Kenneth Jones Sr; sisters, Charla Jones Durham and Carole Giles and family; his step-father, Damon Johnson; and sister, Lisa Dick and family.
He was a man who radiated positivity, always greeting the world with a smile and his signature phrase, “just peachy.” He often reminded those around him, “The power of thought can cause you either illness or recovery. Be mindful and always keep it positive.” He loved adventure. He loved fun. But most of all, he loved his family. Those who knew him thought highly of him, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
A memorial service will be held on February 15th at 10:00 AM at the United Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley, Louisiana. Kenneth will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
