Kim Lisa Kosbau, 51, passed away, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at her home in Altus. Celebration of Life services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Cremation and services are entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Lisa was born October 7, 1961 to Kenneth W. and Carol A. (Albers) at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. As a child, she attended Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Altus with her family. She graduated from Altus High School in 1979 and continued her education at Western Oklahoma State College, attaining her Associated of Arts Degree in 1982. She and her mother attended WOSC at the same time and graduated together. Following the completion of her associate’s degree, Lisa also attained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor’s in Psychology while living in Oklahoma City. In 1993, she went on to pursue her true passion and received her Registered Nursing license from Western Oklahoma State College here in Altus. Due to her advanced skill level, Lisa worked as a contract nurse, traveling to the area hospitals where needed and was later employed as a registered nurse at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, as well as the Elk City and Hollis hospitals. After fulfilling each of these positions, Lisa worked within a home health facility and for DaVita Dialysis. In addition to working, Lisa was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, completing various types of puzzles, and loved to foster abandoned animals. In fact, she volunteered at the Altus Animal Shelter and eventually worked there for a short time. She also looked forward to spending time with her children and celebrating their accomplishments in life. Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents; Agnes and Herman Albers; Rose and Kermit Payne, and an aunt, Luella Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Bailea Katrina Kosbau and her fiancé Jeffrey Scanlon, both of Tulsa, OK; her son, Evan Drake Kosbau of Altus, OK; her mother, Carol Payne of Altus, OK; and two brothers, Kendall Payne of Altus, OK and Kirk Payne of Stillwater, Oklahoma, in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
