Leon Monday

Leon Monday, 63, Altus, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Leon Monday was born January 29, 1951, to James Edward “Punk” and Edna Adele “Sally” (Bryant) Monday in Altus, OK. He served his country in the United States Navy, being honorably discharged in 1969. He spent many hours fishing and grilling, watching the OU Sooners and the New Orleans Saints. He loved his family and friends. Leon is preceded in death by his father and one grandson. He leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Sally and Clyde Harrell of Altus, OK; one daughter, Winter Dawn Manney and husband, Paul, of Reed, OK; two sons, James Leon Monday and Dustin Leon Monday, both of Altus, OK; five grandchildren; a sister, Margie Stordahl and husband, George, of Kissimmee, FL; as well as a host of friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
