Lila “Daphne” Hughes, 75, passed away at her home in Altus on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Cremation services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Lila Daphne Rowland was born on August 18, 1947 in Altus, Oklahoma to Bedford and Mable (Talley) Rowland. She graduated with the Altus High School Class of 1965 and later attended nursing school at Oklahoma City Community College. Daphne worked as a registered nurse most of her adult life. She married Lynn R. Hughes on June 13, 2016 in Hardeman, Texas. Daphne was an artist and enjoyed arts and crafts.
Her son, Wade Crossland; and her parents, Bedford and Mable preceded her in death. Those left to honor Daphne’s memory are her husband, Lynn; son, Mike Crossland and wife, Katrina; stepson, Tom Hughes and wife, Jancie; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Joel, and Camille Crossland; sister, Tamye McMinn and husband, Richard; brothers, JR Rowland and wife, Marsha, Jasper Rowland and wife, Shirley, Lynn Rowland and wife, Pat, and Steve Rowland and wife, Barbie; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
