Linda Caroll (King) Stokes left this world to be with our Lord in Heaven on Friday, October 5, 2012. Linda was born on July 1, 1947 in Mansfield, Texas to Clemons and Martha King. The family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1949, where she attended public schools and graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1965. She also attended Business College in Fort Worth. During her teenage years she was very involved in school sports and live biology. After leaving Fort Worth, she lived in Oklahoma City, OK, Shreveport, LA, Las Vegas, NV, Goose Bay, Labrador, Fairford, England, and her final home, Altus, OK. She married Robert E. Stokes, Sr. on May 20, 1989 in Altus, Oklahoma. She retired from Civil Service in December 2003 after more than twenty five years of dedicated service to the United Sates Air Force. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Clemons Lee and Martha Lee King, her brother, Clemons Clyde King, both sets of grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Robert E. Stokes, Sr., of the home; her sons, Robert A. Jenkins and wife, Louisa, of Phoenix, AZ, and Larry D. Jenkins and wife, Alyson, of Augusta, GA; and her stepsons, Robert E. Stokes, Jr. and Kevin M. Stokes, both of Orlando, FL. She also leaves behind two granddaughters, Genevieve A. Jenkins and Anderson C. Jenkins, and four step-grandchildren, Dalton, Kylie, Tyler and Colin Stokes. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Kincannon Funeral Home.
