Linda Gail Tidwell, 73, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Linda was born in Altus on October 5, 1948 to Sam and Ola (Shipley) Smith. She attended Altus Public Schools and later married Oscar Tidwell. Linda happily spent many years as a homemaker.
Linda was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed attending the dirt track races supporting both her son and grandson when they raced. Linda traveled two or three times a week, all over southwest Oklahoma attending senior dances. Linda enjoyed watching her favorite television shows “The Price Is Right”, “Wheel of Fortune”, “Days of Our Lives”, and “Chicago Fire” and was known to frequent the Apache Nation Casino.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband; a child, Sonny Dale Hunt; her parents; sisters, Wanda Houston, Sue York, and Joann Chester; brothers, Bobby Smith, Junior Smith, Charles Ray Smith, and Gene Smith; and a special friend, Warren Thompson.
Linda is survived by her sons, Troy Hunt of McKinney, Texas and O.C. Hunt and Jennifer Miller of Altus; sister, Barbara Blankenship and husband David of Altus; grandchildren, Austin Hunt and Kali Pettrey, and Christopher Hunt all of Altus; great grandchildren, Victoria, Austyn, Allyson, Aynzley, and Aaliyah.
Linda’s family will hold a memorial reception on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
