Lois June Barnett, 78, Altus, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Boyd Whitehead and Tom Bailey officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. June was born February 1, 1933 in Chillicothe, Texas to James Milton and Jesse Viola (Bingham) Hopkins. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1950. She married Jerry Bell in Wichita Falls, Texas and he preceded her in death. She attended beauty school in 1958. She later married Leslie B. “Barney” Barnett on December 23, 1967 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mr. Barnett preceded her in death on June 23, 2009. June was a homemaker and a hairdresser. She made many friendships over the years as she worked with the NCO Wives Club as an advisor. She spent many years Square Dancing across the state. She loved crocheting and cooking for her family and their friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a brother, Ray Hopkins, and a grandson, James Davis. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Davis and husband, David, of Altus, OK, and Debra Jean Jolley and husband, Robin, of Dearborn, MI; three grandchildren, Shane Gemaehlich of Weatherford, OK; Kristie Rowader and Beth Jolley, both of Michigan; three great grandchildren; two nephews, Steven Barnett and Glenn Barnett, both of Ft. Worth, TX; and special friends, Korey McAuliffe and Desta Pritchett, and Carol McAuliffe, all of Branson, MO, PZ and Bonnie Zender, Kevin and Sonya McAuliffe, and Denice Sadler, all of Altus, OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the Kincannon Funeral Home.
