Lonna Gay Drury was born on September 20, 1949 in Altus, Oklahoma to Jack Alton and Dorothy Margaret (Truitt) Drury. She grew up in southwest Oklahoma and graduated from Olustee High School in 1967. Lonna married Wendell Doughten in Olustee on January 20, 1968. They divorced, but after many years and life choices, they rekindled their love and on September 20, 1991 they married again in Lawton. Daddy would introduce Mom as his “first and last wife.” Wendell passed away on January 4, 1992. Lonna worked as a hairdresser for most of her life before retiring from Walmart. Mom was “Mom” to many but was “Sugar” to her biggest pride and joys. She enjoyed bowling, horses, and making music with her dad and grands. She could crochet the best afghans, sew the cutest dresses and clothes for either her daughters or to be sure her granddaughters matched for holidays and special occasions. She didn’t stop there; she would be certain you had earrings and a bracelet to match.
Her father, Jack Drury; mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Robert Winstead; two sons-in-law, Mike Reuter and Tim Zeman; and a brother-in-law, Gary Doughten; were part of her welcoming committee as she entered the Pearly Gates.
Survivors include two daughters, Wendy Doughten and Misty Zeman; six grandchildren, Mikail Reuter and wife, Savanah, MiKayla Reuter, Kendell Reuter, Sean Hundley, Amanda Hundley, and Ty Hurst; 4 great grandchildren, Michael Timothy Reuter, Daelee Duff, Daisey Duff, and Autumn Izhak; her stepmother, Marilyn Drury; two brothers, Ray Winstead and Darin Drury and wife, Mary; a close friend and sister, Vickie Whitman and husband, John; and many other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to made to the “TIM ZEMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP” fund through founder, MiKayla Reuter, cashapp @ $mikaylareuter.
