Lorene “Baby Brown” Lyons, 83, Altus, went home to glory on Sunday morning, January 27, 2013 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Broughton officiating and Assistant Pastor Larry Wiggins and Elder Robert Wilson assisting. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Mama Lyons was born on June 21, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma to Jodie and Nancy (Lewis) Brown. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. She married Bertrue Lyons on August 6, 1977. Lorene worked unselfishly at home raising her children. There was nothing that she would not do for her children or anybody else. She worked for the Blonien Family for 16 years and had worked at the Altus Air Force Base Child Care Development Center for 13 years. She was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years and a member of the AARP. Lorene enjoyed working word find puzzles, watching westerns, being with her family and worshiping the Lord. She was also well known as the “bicycle fixer” and “mover.” She will be loved and missed by all. Mama Lyons was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Anita Jones, three great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary and Rosezene, and four brothers, Nathaniel, Forrest, Jodi, Jr. and W.C. She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Linda Allison and husband, Bobby, of Altus, OK, and Loretta Sanders of Oklahoma City, OK; four sons, Willie Cramer and wife, Esvanilla, of Oklahoma City, OK, Donald Cramer and wife, Teresa, of Oklahoma City, OK, James Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK, and Duke Cramer of Tulsa, OK; two nieces raised as daughters, Nadine Jenkins and husband, Nathaniel, of Altus, OK, and Judy Vann and husband, Richard, of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Jolly Brown and wife, Ruth, of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Thelma Carrington of Okemah, OK, and Isabell Jackson of Altus, OK; 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; best friends Dorothy Owens West and Vernon and Dinah Chaney; and many other friends and relatives. The Lyons Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
