Lorene Fink

Lorene Fink, 92, of Altus, OK passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at English Village Manor. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2012 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with David Player officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Lorene was born December 4, 1919 in Stigler, OK to Aaron and Sylvia (Cole) Simmons. She moved to south of Olustee when a young girl and then moved to the Friendship area. Lorene graduated from Friendship High School and went to Southwestern College in Weatherford majoring in home economics. She married W. Roy Fink August 23, 1942 in Weatherford, OK. She worked for the Altus Public Schools as head cook for 30 years at Eugene Field School. In 2010, the Jackson County Retired Educators honored Mrs. Fink as the recipient of the Pioneer Education Award noting her distinction as a Pioneer Educator. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women Circle II, and Oklahoma Teachers Retirement. Lorene enjoyed being a part of the Helping Hands and quilting bees at the First United Methodist Church and UMW Circle II. Mrs. Fink was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Roy. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Moreau and husband, Bennie, of Altus, OK; one brother, Buster Simmons and wife, Sharon, of Weatherford, OK; four grandchildren, James Moreau and wife, Linda, of Altus, OK, Roy Don Moreau and wife, Stephanie, of Navajoe, OK, Jason Moreau and wife, Lena, of Altus, OK, Calli Sparkman and husband, Josh, of Glenpool, OK; eight great-grandchildren, Mercy Moreau, Lindsey Moreau, McKenzie Moreau, Rose Huff, and husband, Ben, of Lawton, OK, Amanda Cordes and husband, T.J., of Altus, OK, Jason Glidewell, and wife, Lisa, of Dallas, TX, Katelyn Sparkman, and Dason Sparkman; six great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Christian, Isabella, Carlee, Ronnie, Harlee; and special friends of the family, Jay and Christy Argo.
