Lucille Beeson, 84, Altus, died Wednesday morning, October 19, 2011 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Altus City Cemetery with Tom Bailey officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Lucille Mitchell was born December 7, 1926 in Augusta, Arkansas to Elbert H. and Bertha A. (Looney) Mitchell. She graduated from Carter High School, Carter, Oklahoma. She married Arvel L. Beeson November 6, 1943. She worked as a sales clerk for many years at T G & Y, Wackers, Margie’s House of Hallmark and the Booterie. She was a long time member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, walking, church activities and visiting with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Carole Vaughan; a brother, Bob Mitchell; four sisters, Peggy Phelps, Joyce Hammack, Margie Nordman and Barbara Stovall. She is survived by two granddaughters, Cheri Cumiford and husband Cary of Elk City, OK; Kimberly Haslett of Jacksonville, FL; three great- grandchildren, Ryan Robinett and wife Christy of College Station, TX; Chelsea Nevels of Elk City, OK; Cody Haslett of Rome, GA; one great- great-granddaughter, Kenda Nevels of Elk City, OK; one sister, Wanda Culver of Altus, OK; son-in-law, William Calvin Vaughan III and Jan Curley of Mariaville, Maine and many special friends. The Beeson Family will greet friends Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
