Mable Arvella Rowland

Mable Arvella Rowland, 90, Altus, passed away early Thursday morning October 29, at the English Village Nursing Home. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Mable Arvella Talley was born on March 5, 1925 to Dee and Opal (Staggs) Talley in Kusa, Oklahoma. Mable and Bedford Forrest Rowland were united in marriage on May 7, 1945. They were married 56 years prior to his death on November 29, 2001. Mable was a master homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. Her family was of the utmost importance to her. After insuring her children had completed their high school education, she was able to return to her own studies. She was proud to accomplish the course work required to complete her high school education. Her unconditional love for her family was forever evident. She enjoyed collecting Betty Boop items, dolls and teapots.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Wade Crossland; siblings, Goldie Talley, Wesley George Talley and Tyra Talley; as well as a son-in-law, Mike Hurley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory six children, B.F. "Junior" Rowland and his wife, Marcia, Daphne Rowland, Jasper Rowland and his wife, Shirley, Lynn Rowland and his wife, Patricia, Steve Rowland and wife, Barbie and Tamye McMinn and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Casey Rowland and wife, Donna, Cindy Wilson and husband, Steve, Mike Crossland and wife, Katrina, Mary Lea Rowland and husband, Ron Bowers, Tyson Rowland, Rashell Johnson and husband, Rhet, Jeff Rowland and wife, Micki, Blair Perez, Blake Rowland, Forrest Weathers and wife, Christina and Shawnna Pence and husband, Jerimy; twenty six great grandchildren; and twenty five great-great grandchildren. Mable is also survived by three sisters, Audrey Jackson, Catherine Caster and Wesline Kenmore and her husband; three brothers, Hugh Talley and wife, Jill, Dee Talley and wife, Bonnie, and Bobby Talley and wife, Jane. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rowland family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
