Mahala (Thompson) Fletcher, 83, Lawton, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Duncan, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday at the Altus City Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Mahala Thompson was born on March 10, 1933 in Friendship, Oklahoma to Robert S. and Ruth Allen (Baker) Thompson. She had two sisters, Veda Joyce and Lena Belle, and two brothers, Alba Sanford and Pat William Chennault. She grew up in Altus, Oklahoma. She married Roby Dale Fletcher in Clovis, New Mexico on May 10, 1952. She and Roby Dale lived in Plainview, Texas, where she ran a day care for 25 years. Later, she returned to Altus and worked as a beauty operator in various nursing homes. Woodrow Roudebush was her partner until he preceded her in death. She enjoyed numerous activities including art.
Her parents, two husbands, and her four siblings, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two nephews, Russell and Brenda Chennault and their children, Brian, Keith, Kylee and Lexa; and Jonathan and Melani Chennault and their children, Meagan and Garrett; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Chennault and her children, Joe Beck and family along with Vicki Walton and her family.
