Maria Rogel, 64, Altus, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, September 17 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Mark Olson officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Maria was born in Clinton, Texas to Alfonso and Olivia (Gonzalez) Benibamonde on July 17, 1948. She attended Roosevelt Schools. She married Francisco V. Nunez in 1967 at Fort Lupton, Colorado, and they were married for eleven years. In 1981, at Vernon, Texas, Maria was united in marriage with Rogelio Hernandez Rogel. They were married twenty-four years. Maria loved to cook and have everyone come to her home to eat and visit. She loved everyone, and enjoyed helping at her church. She was a member of the Casa De Oracion Church. She enjoyed gardening and planting trees and flowers. Maria is preceded in death by her father, and a sister, Adelita Rogel. She is survived by her three daughters, Norma Luna of Altus, OK, and Lydia A. Torres and Irene Mendez, both of Oklahoma City, OK; two sons, Lee Raymond Nunez of Altus, OK, and Francisco Nunez, Jr. of Deridder, LA; fourteen grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; her mother, Olivia G. Benibamonde of Lawton, OK; three sisters, Angie Martinez of Vernon, TX, Janie Benibamonde of Corpus Christi, TX, and Alice Meza of Lawton, OK; and eight brothers, Alfonso Benibamonde of Lawton, OK, Leopaldo Benibamonde of Altus, OK, Albert Benibamonde of Lawton, OK, Toby Benibamonde of Greeley, CO, Tony Benibamonde of Lawton, OK; Adolfo Benibamonde of Altus, OK, Henry Benibamonde of Sebring, FL, and Adam Benibamonde of Lawton, OK;. The Rogel family will receive friends 1 to 5 pm, Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Kincannon Gathering Room. Additional parking for the funeral Friday is available in Kincannon’s back parking lot, Best Western Hotel to the South and Western Sizzlin’ Steakhouse to the North.
