Marilyn Bernice Lassiter

January 25, 1948 — October 7, 2024

Lone Wolf

Marilyn Bernice Lassiter, 76, passed away peacefully in her home in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma on October 7, 2024. Born to Sigman and Miriam (Weizmann) Salter on January 25, 1948, Marilyn grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she later graduated from Silver Spring High School.

On August 17, 1979, she married Archer “Pete” Lassiter II, at Andrews AFB. She spent her life as a homemaker, taking care of the house and their children. Together, they celebrated 45 years of marriage this past summer, a union that was filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.

Marilyn was a creative soul with a passion for designing jewelry, gardening, and making beautiful flower arrangements. Marilyn’s eye for beauty was reflected not only in her art but also in her surroundings. Marilyn’s love for travel took her across the globe, from the vibrant cultures of Asia to the vast landscapes of Africa and the rich history of Europe. She cherished every moment of these journeys, and her experiences were a source of joy and inspiration in her life.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she called home.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Sigman and Miriam. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Pete; children, Michael Lassiter and wife, Karen, David Lassiter, Dawn Rushing, Bonnie Sampler, and Lisa Collingwood; brother, Sheldon Salter; as well as five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online tributes may be made at www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.
