Marion Hill Irby, 85, Prairie Hill, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Plantation Village Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Prairie Hill Cemetery with U. S. Army Chaplain Tim Wiggins officiating under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Marion Hill Irby was born July 29, 1933 at Prairie Hill, Oklahoma to Lewis and
Lizzie (Robinson) Irby. He attended Prairie Hill School and graduated from Duke High School. Marion enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country as a tank mechanic during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged and continued to serve in the Oklahoma National Guard. Marion married Darlene Weyrick July 2, 1983 in Duke, Oklahoma and enjoyed a lifetime of farming and ranching. He was of the Methodist Faith and enjoyed being an amateur meteorologist. Marion was fond of all types of dogs and especially his favorite dog, Whiskers. He also loved plowing, working the land, driving his John Deere tractors and above all, the American Flag.
Mr. Irby was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Darlene Irby; his two daughters, Jennifer Young and husband, Troy; Amanda Kershaw and husband, Brian; two grandchildren, Krystal Young and
Addison Haden and many friends.
Honorary casketbearers for Mr. Irby's service are David Meason, Charlie Dollins, Dean Rice, Randy Rice, Donivan Green, Laney Hughes, David Renfro, Bill Weyrick, Clyde Hill and Barney Trammel.
The Irby family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
