Mark L. Sumner

Mark Sumner, 62, Altus, died Sunday, August 23, 2015. Services for Mr. Sumner have been entrusted to the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Mark was born on September 25, 1952 in Pontiac, Michigan. His family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1961. He attended school at Paradise Valley High School. Mark worked as a journeyman carpenter for many years. He married Stephany Gensman on March 23, 1994. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, hiking, biking, fishing and motorcycling.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Lee Roy and Nancy (Jockwig) Pressnell

Survivors include his wife, Stephany, of the home; a son, Jason Sumner and wife, Melinda; two sisters, Jennifer Hill and husband, Danny, and Katy Clark and husband, Dean; and two brothers, Jeff and Henry Pressnell. Mark had a large extended family including three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mark had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and made many memories riding across the country with close friends. He was proud of his son Jason and loved passing on his carpentry skills.

Mark loved spending time with his family and friends, was the life of the party and lived to ride.
