Marvin W. Bennight, 64, Weatherford, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2022 at his home with family members by his side.
Marvin was born April 21, 1958 in Altus, Okla. to the late Marvin Bennight and wife, Ida Josephine Hals Bennight. Marvin was united in marriage to Carolyn Wakeman on July 8, 1977 in Hess, Oklahoma. Marvin worked for United Supermarkets for over 30 years and always considered himself a “United Grocery Man”
Marvin’s children and grandchildren were the most important part of his life. He loved playing baseball in his younger years. He loved fishing with his dad, his brothers, his brother-in- laws, his father-in-law, his daughter Brooke and his grandkids. He also loved OU Football, OU Women’s softball, the Bulls and the Braves. Marvin loved yard work and kept a meticulous yard. He was also an aquarium hobbyist and loved raising angel fish.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bennight, Weatherford; two daughters, Brooke Wood and husband Ray, Edmond, Ashley Lambert and her husband Jacob of Hinton, three Granddaughters, Reagan and Madison Wood and Mia Lambert, 11 siblings, J.C. Bennight, Idaho, Boyd Bennight and wife Barbara, Frederick, OK, Pat Edwards, Tulsa, OK, Darlene Wilson, Oscar Bennight and wife Ina, all of Altus, OK., Gladys Hand, Altus, OK., Euletta Harold, Holland, Mich., Beverly Tabb and husband Robert, Altus, OK., Mark Bennight and wife Annette, Altus, OK.; mother-in-law, Colleen Wakeman Norman, OK, brother-in-law Don Wakeman and his fiancé Irma Flores, brother-in-law Bobby Wakeman and wife Cindy, sister-in-law Shalia Wakeman Martini of Norman and many nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Bennight; his parents Marvin and Josephine Bennight; two brothers, Michael Bennight and James Bennight; one sister, Melvina Huddleston One nephew, Lynn Bennight; father-in-law Deryl Wakeman.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 pm Monday, May 16, 2022.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday at the Navajoe Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
