Mary Emma Hood-Hawkins, 86, Altus, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the Martha Cemetery with her daughter, Debbie Daniels officiating. Burial is under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Mary Emma Weissman was born on July 18, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Henry and Emma (Nolde) Weissman. She graduated high school in Philadelphia and married Bill Enoch in 1953. To this union seven beautiful children were born, Carolyn, Billy, Joannie, Debbie, Bobby, Nancy and Warren. Mary worked as a waitress for most of her life. One of the greatest events in her life is when she won the “Queen for a Day” game show, hosted by Jack Bailey. Mary married Paul Hood in 1962. She moved to Oklahoma three years ago to be closer to her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma Weissman ; her husbands, Billy Enoch and Paul Hood; two of her children, Billy and Bobbie; her brothers, Albert, George and Richard; her sister, Louise and her cat BB.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn, Nancy, Joannie, Debbie and a son, Warren; grandchildren, Katie, Cheyenne and Gerardo Lopez, Pamela and Jason Buxton; Jesse and Amy McConnaha; and Kendra McConnaha; great grandchildren, Bubba, Montana, Easton, Jess Jess, Kelly, Skylar, Jaxon, Ashley, Destiny, Jayden, Elijiah and Eyziah; and a great great granddaughter, Lil’ Rose; a brother, Henry “Shake” and wife, Marge, who would liked to say “rest in peace, my sweet sister and I’ll miss you terribly.” Mary was full of laughs and dreams and always a firecracker - no one knew what to expect. She loved making others laugh by pranks and jokes. Mary asked that on her gravestone, “Mary Hood in the Hood” be placed.
