Mary Kathryn “Kay” McClung, 67, of Olustee, Oklahoma, passed away on December 27, 2012 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation services are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Mary Kathryn was born on September 9, 1945 to Ancil “Shorty” and Edna Carlene (Taylor) McClung in Perryton, Texas. She grew up in Perryton, Texas. She married J. E. Cheap on April 20, 1970 in Woodward, Oklahoma. Kay was a hairdresser for forty-five years. In 2005, she moved to Olustee, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, genealogy, fishing and traveling. She was preceded in death by her father, Shorty McClung, her mother and stepfather, Carlene and V.R. Coon, her husband, J.E. Cheap, and two grandsons, Timothy and John. Ms. McClung is survived by two daughters, Melynda Bettis and husband, Larry, of Amarillo, Texas, and Michelle Burdine Tally and husband, Eddie, of Olustee, Oklahoma; one stepson, Leland Cheap and wife, Jody, of San Antonio, Texas; one stepdaughter, Becky Ratliff of Woodward, Oklahoma; one sister, Sue Payne and husband, Jerry, of Austin, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
