Mary Risinger Pollard

Mary Risinger Pollard, 70, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at her home. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Erin Martinez officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Altus City Cemetery.
Mary Ann Risinger was born on October 15, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma to John and Kathren (Ward) Risinger. She married Cecil Calvin on February 14, 1963 and they were married for several years. She moved to Altus to be near her parents and family. She married Danny Pollard on May 25, 1979 in Martha, Oklahoma. She worked at several locations in Altus including Hair Strategy where she was a co-owner. Mary worked as a cosmetologist for 30 years. Later in life she went back to school and received her degree and worked for several years as a unit secretary for Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Her parents, John and Kathren Risinger, husband, Danny Pollard, two sons, Jerry Don and Little Cecil and a sister, Betty Harrelson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two children, Helene Newell and husband, Charles, Connie Calvin Means, two step children, Jay Pollard and Robin Mendoza; three grandchildren, Aimee Newell, Jordan Calvin and Madison Means; a great grandson, Siris Dean; and three sisters, Emily Kekahuna, Rebecca "Becky" Nall and Dana Amick.
