Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 14, 2013, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Clint Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Mary Sue Stone was born on March 15, 1921 in Chalk, Texas to Tas Kirk and Jennie Ann (Lewis) Stone. She grew up and graduated from Clarendon High School in Texas. She married James T. Hardage on January 18, 1946 in Clovis, New Mexico. Sue was a faithful wife and mother who supported her husband’s military career of 27 years while moving around the world. She and her husband owned and operated Shirley’s Imports on North Main in Altus for several years. Sue taught painting and craftwork to many over the years as she enjoyed helping others while sharing her love of art. She was also a great cook and was known for her pecan pies and casseroles. She was especially proud when her casserole dishes were completely eaten during a church meal. Sue still had a sharp mind as she demonstrated by sending emails and prayer grams to her friends. She was a member of the Tamarack Road Church of Christ and enjoyed oil painting, cooking, helping others, church work, walking and flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Jimmy Charles Hardage, a grandson, Jaron Hardage, a sister, Louise Riley, and two brothers, Lewis and J. T. Stone. Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Hardage of Altus, OK; two grandchildren, Lane and Dylan Hardage; one brother, Kenneth Stone, of Conroe, TX; one niece, Becky Bills, of Conroe, TX; two nephews, Jim Riley of Amarillo, TX and Rod Stone of Lawrence, NE; and many other friends. Memorials may be made to the Tamarack Road Church of Christ Youth Group c/o Tamarack Road Church of Christ, 1000 E. Tamarack Road, Altus, Oklahoma 73521.
