Michael Anthony “Mike” Amore, 56, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma died at his home Monday, April 7, 2014. Celebration of Life services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Kincannon Funeral Home. Michael Anthony Amore was born April 24, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joe and Renah (Beard) Amore. He attended Altus Public Schools and graduated at Altus High School with the class of 1976. He served his country in the United States Army from 1977 to 1980. Mike attended WOSC upon his return home from the service. He was very involved in the family restaurant, Papa Joe’s, during his school years as well as several years following his military service. Mike knew all the restaurant menu items and was one of their best cooks. The Amore family served and loved their many customers over the years and Mike was proud to be a part of it. He also worked for several years at the Grace Living Center near the hospital in Altus. Mike was of the Catholic Faith; enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs baseball team; fishing and all types of TV sports. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of Cheyenne, OK; two sons, Shane Amore and wife, Ashley, of Sumter, SC and Travis Richardson and wife, Laura, of Ft. Riley, Kansas; one sister, Delores Schmid and husband, Jim, of Wilmington, NC; two brothers, Carmine Amore of Lawton, OK; Joey Amore and wife, Chrisy, of Altus, OK; four grandchildren, Ramsey Cross Amore, Kaitlyn Amore and Mia Bella Amore and Jaxon Richardson; a host of nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
