Mickie Irene Waldron, 77, Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at her home. A rosary will be at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends 9:00-10:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 AM with Father Joseph David officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Mickie Irene Waldron was born on May 26, 1945 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Clarence T. and Dessie Irene (Waters) Coombs. She grew up in Frederick and married Edward Harrington on November 22, 1960 in Altus. With Edward being in the military, the couple moved to Japan where Mickie graduated high school from the American School. Mr. Harrington passed on December 8, 1974 after a short illness. Approximately three years later she married Jack “JP” Waldron. Jack passed away suddenly on September 1, 2005. Mickie worked in the grocery industry for most of her life. She worked for Kraft Foods for several years and quickly became their sales representative. Later in her working career, she worked at the Altus Air Force Base Commissary as a vendor until her retirement. Mickie was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church for many years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, hardly missing any of her kids sporting events.
Her parents; both husbands; three sisters, Lillian Haynie, Jean Quiroz, and Mary Wanzer; and a brother, Clarence Coombs, Jr. preceded her in death.
Survivors include two children, Geoffery Harrington and wife, Stacie, and Theresa Harrington Anderson; two stepchildren, Michele Waldron Allen and husband, Mike, and Michael Waldron and wife, Tammy; 12 grandchildren, Kameron, Kaitlyn, and Karlie Anderson, Taylor and Zach McEntire, Ian and Madison Harrington, John Waldron, Daniel and Adam Hoelting, Race Jacobson, and Olivia Graham; six great grandchildren, Andre Johnson, Aurora, Whaylon and Memphis Graham, and MacKenzie and Remie Jacobson; a sister, Loretta Holt; and numerous nieces and nephews including one special niece, Carla Scott, who helped Mickie tremendously in her final months.
