Minnie "Mickey" Ethridge

Minnie E. “Mickey” Ethridge, 81, Altus, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at a later date in Dysart, Iowa. Local arrangements were made by the Kincannon Funeral Home. Minnie E. Bailey was born on October 26, 1929 in Early, Iowa to Homer Eli and Lillian Fern (Young) Bailey. She married Thomas Lee Newman on January 29, 1949. He passed away in January of 1960. She later married Cleone Karr and then Wayne Ethridge. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Mickey enjoyed fishing and was a great cook who loved baking. She was a very friendly person who would talk to anyone. Her first husband, a son, Dennis Cleone Karr, four brothers, Charles, James, Ralph and Homer, and two sisters, Joyce and Shirley, preceded her in death. Survivors include ten children, Alex Newman and wife, Charlene, of Evansdale, IA, Sandi Hansen and husband, Dean, of Evansdale, IA, Kitty Wagner and husband, Gene, of Deep River, IA, Thomas Newman of Evansdale, IA, Terry Newman and wife, Connie, of Hampton, IA, Brenda Newman of Altus, OK, Eulalia Averhoff and husband, Dale, of Evansdale, IA, Timothy Newman and wife, Susan, of Elk Run Heights, IA, Toni Faye Hay and husband, Michael, of Piper City, IL, and Tina Louise Rakowski and husband, Jeff, of Grand Forks, ND; a sister, Mary Bailey of Evansdale, IA; a brother, Ron Bailey of Monticello, IA; 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a loving companion, Joe Radcliff of Altus.
