Nancy "Nadine" Brown, 68, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 peacefully at her home surrounded by friends and family. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Apostle Marcus West officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Nancy Nadine Pruitt was born on February 27, 1948 in Altus. She attended Lincoln High School and married Walter Brown in Altus in 1966. Her passion was serving the Lord and helping others. She worked most of her life as a Home Health Nurse. Nadine was a member of the New Beginnings Full Gospel Church and was very active there. She was a foster mother to 78 children throughout her life. She was also the founder of Girl Talk since 2013, which helped girls in the community reach their potential. Nadine had a great sense of humor and loved traveling and crafting.
Her parents, John Pruitt and Rosezene Johnson, grandparents, Nancy F. Brown and Jodie Brown, stepfather, DePorter Johnson, Sr., a sister, Laura, and a brother, Karl, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, GayNell Brown, Tyrone Brown and Tamara Brown; four grandchildren, Megan Brown, Jasmine Nadine Brown, Ebony and Essence Brown; two great grandchildren, Kairyn and Ryan; four sisters, Judy, Darlene, Betty and Rose; and three brothers, DePorter, Jr., Mike and Dennis. She also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.
