Nancy Yvonne McClintock, 93, former resident of Amarillo, Texas and longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, in Edmond with family by her side. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Nancy Yvonne (Fields) McClintock was born on September 5, 1930, to Vera (Hurst) and James A. Fields in Amarillo, Texas. As a young girl she attended Amarillo Public School and graduated from high school in 1948. Upon graduating high school, she attended Amarillo Junior College. In August of 1950, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Edwin “Jim” McClintock and they spent 69 years traveling, gardening, and enjoying life together before his passing in 2020. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus, a member of Republican Women, and the past president of the AARP club. She loved music and loved to play the piano for the congregation at her church as well as singing in the church choir. She was a secretary for two Baptist Churches, but she later found her calling as a lab technician at a water treatment plant in Amarillo. She loved her work as a lab technician, but her ultimate love was spending time with her children and later in years with her grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents, James and Vera. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Carey McClintock and wife, Debbie and Rev. Dan McClintock and wife, Janice; daughter, Betty Kay Howell and husband, Tracy; six grandchildren, Josh McClintock and wife, Sara, Brent McClintock and wife, Crystal, Kelly Howell and wife, Skyla, Mandy Booker and husband, Michael, Lindsey McClintock and husband, Sebastian, and Jessica Rivera and husband, Gio; fourteen great grandchildren, Kaylie, Jillian, McKayla, Stephen, Lucas, Charlotte, Carson, Bennett, Liela, Zaiden, Aaliyah, Adilynn, Ryker, and Harlie.
