Nicolasa Mendez, 67, Altus, passed away at Jackson County Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 31, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be at 3:30 PM Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph David officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Nicolasa was born on December 6, 1955 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Maria Miranda Garcia and Benito Mendez Lira. She worked as a teacher’s aide and interpreter. Nicolasa was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She enjoyed helping others and attending church activities. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Her parents preceded her in death. Nicolasa is survived by her sons, Jorge, Kenny, and Noe; grandchildren, Joan, Emily, Shayla, Bella, Kenny, Jr., Nicolas, Jas, Nicole, Jio, and Jared; siblings, Pedro, Noe, Roberto, Jorge, Samuel, Dora, Mari, and Juana; and a host of church family and friends.
A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel.
