Norman Gene Guenther, 79, Altus, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. Inurnment will take place in the Veteran’s Section of the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Norman Gene Guenther was born on December 28, 1931 in Prairie View, Kansas to Vincent and Anna (Kipp) Guenther. Norman graduated from high school in Goodland, Kansas and attended two years of college at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. He served in the United States Air Force from January of 1950 to February 28, 1978. He served in Korea and Vietnam and retired as a Senior Master Sergant after 28 years of service. Norman married Haydee Munoz in Marquette, Michigan on August 10, 1986. He loved to bowl, bowling a 300, and playing golf, shooting a hole in one. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his step-daughter, Hope Virch of Marquette, Michigan; three step-sons, James Miller of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jack Miller of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and John Miller of Gwinn, Michigan; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
