O C Nobles, 87, Blair, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Blair, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Blair First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mitchell and Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Mr. Nobles was born August 6, 1924 to Oscar C. and Minnie (McEntire) Nobles in Custer County, near Canute, Oklahoma. He graduated from Carter High School, Carter, Oklahoma. He married Emma Lee Wolf on January 1, 1949 in Lone Oak, Oklahoma. They moved to the Blair area where he farmed and co-owned Blair Conoco with Tink Winters. He managed the Davis Gin in Blair and later the Martha Gin. He enjoyed custom swathing, hay baling and cotton picking. He was a long time member of the Blair First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He served on the Blair School Board from 1961 to 1965. He also enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes with his friends and spending time with his family. Mr. Nobles is preceded in death by his parents and two young sisters. He is survived by his wife Emma Lee; three children, Renee Howard and husband Bob of the Navajoe Community; Farrel Nobles and wife Debbie of Altus, OK; “special daughter” Sue VonTungeln and husband Kevin of Altus, OK; six grandchildren, Chrystle and Dr. Jarrett Kruska of Enid, OK; Ryan Howard and wife Erin; and Brent Howard, all of Navajoe; Flint and Stacey Nobles of Ardmore, OK; Caitlin VonTungeln and Bradley VonTungeln, both of Altus, OK; three great grandchildren, Emma Kate and Elliott Kruska and Creed Nobles.
