Odessa Crawford, 92, Altus, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the English Village Manor. Homegoing celebration will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robert Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Odessa Brown was born on June 11, 1924 in Milo, Oklahoma to AB and Hattie (Means) Brown. She worked at Jackson County Memorial Hospital for more than 25 years and retired as the Housekeeping Supervisor. After her retirement, she volunteered for the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary as a "Pink Lady." She enjoyed working puzzles, playing dominoes and attending church. Odessa was a member of the St. John's Baptist Church and the Chickasaw Nation.
Her parents, two husbands, Willie Stevenson and Stanley Crawford, a daughter, Annetta Stevenson Jones, a sister, Lillie Mae Pickens, and a brother, Maron Means, preceded her in death.
Survivors include nine children, Gloria Jean Pickens, Glennon Pickens and wife, Nadine, Clifton Jackson and wife, LaWanda, Arber Jean Murray and wife, Sally, Flora West, Donald Ray Stevenson, Lindsey Stevenson and wife, Yolanda, Willie Stevenson and Gary Stevenson; 45 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Lee Means and Dorothy Carr and husband, Charles; a brother, Johnny Dee Means and his wife; and numerous other family and friends.
