Oletta Leemhuis, 84, Altus, passed away on August 31, 2013 at the English Village Manor. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in the Sharon Cemetery, north of Gotebo, under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Oletta was born on April 21, 1929 in Telephone, Texas to Z E and Emma Bell (Hodgkiss) Gilley. As a young woman, she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Clinton, Oklahoma. She also chopped and picked cotton. Oletta and Ray Minter were united in marriage on December 24, 1949 in Mangum, Oklahoma. After being widowed, she later married Henry J. Leemhuis on June 8, 1973 in Wellington, Texas. She enjoyed planting flowers, reading, watching television and spending time with her family. Joel Osteen was one of her favorite programs. She loved going to McDonald’s for breakfast. She was of the Nazarene faith. Oletta is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, a son, Eddie Minter, three sisters, Lessie Willingham, Edna Havens and Navada Young, and one brother, Waymond Gilley. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Fry and husband, Johnny, of Altus, OK, and Gloria Solis and husband, Roy, of Altus, OK; five grandchildren, Rachel Williams and husband, Shawn, of Sulphur, OK, Rebecca Gilley and husband, Kenneth Morse, of Lone Grove, OK, Wendy Lowe and husband, Jason, of Altus, OK, Lora Gilley and husband, James Lemon, and Barbara Solis and husband, Thomas Holt, of Altus, OK; ten great-grandchildren, Andy, Taylor, Thomas, Anthony, Alec, Jimmy, Jimmie, Jessie, Tatum and Karl; one great- great-granddaughter, Miya; and several nieces and nephews including Emma Goldstein of Ardmore, OK.
