Patricia Jean Freeman (Martin), 88, of Eldorado, OK went to be with her Lord on October 8, 2022 in Cypress, TX, surrounded by close family. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2022 in the Church of Christ in Eldorado. Burial will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Pat, the daughter of William Grady and Beulah Amanda Martin (Scott), was raised on a farm north of Eldorado until age 10. The family then moved to Eldorado where she graduated from high school. She married Tommie Freeman on July 5, 1952 in Eldorado and they were blessed with three children. Pat was a homemaker and assisted in farming and running the family business, the Eldorado Oil Company. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ where she taught Bible school, organized funeral dinners, and worshipped regularly. She loved cooking and sewing and held jobs in the school cafeteria, the Panther Drive Inn, the cap factory, the funeral home, and as an election worker. She loved family and hosted many memorable holiday gatherings. She spent numerous years caring for others – her mother and then her sister, Marjorie. The nickname “Granny Pat” was given as she served as a 4H leader, attended livestock shows, basketball games, and shooting matches, where she extended her love and joyous nature to everyone in her vicinity. She baked pies for school events and donated handmade quilts for raffles. She loved to travel, visited Europe several times, and was always ready for a road trip. Most of all, many will remember her infectious smile, her positive outlook on life, and her grit in the face of hardship. Granny Pat will be missed by many.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister. She is survived by her children, Lynetta Jean Freeman, Tommie Austin Freeman (Mary Reece), and Janice Sue Miller (James “Carroll”); grandchildren, Keith Austin, Kara Allyn (Patrick Holland), Heather Lynn Hunter, Tommie Joseph Hunter (Jessica Spann); great grandchildren, Duncan, Valerie, Broderick, and Bayleigh; Carroll’s children, and their family including the late Justin Miller (Kirbi Drury) and children, Heston, Payton, Conner, and Colter; and Jacob (Whitney Givens) and children, Jaxon, Braxton, and Timber. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Freeman family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at the Kincannon Eldorado Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quartz Mountain Christian Camp, or your local FFA Chapter. Online tributes may be made at kincannonfuneralhome.com
