Peter Robert “Pete” Rollin, 70, Altus, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Veterans Section at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Pete was born on June 2, 1939 in Far Rockaway, New York to Harland and Nellie (Smith) Rollin. He graduated from high school in New York and attended college while in Long Island. He married Caroline Joyce McCracken in Omaha, Nebraska on November 14, 1959. He served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years. He served during the Vietnam War from 1968 – 1969. After his retirement, he worked for Saudi Arabia Airlines, Total Air, Cessna, ATA, Tradewinds International Airlines and Air America. He loved antique cars, especially Studebakers, and anything to do with airplanes. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Disabled American Veterans, the Studebaker Antique Car Club, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was a loving husband, father, papa and friend. He had many friends all over the world. He had his breakfast club and his coffee cup bunch that meant a lot to him. He never met a stranger and his love for his family and friends was as genuine as his heart of gold. His father, Harland Rollin, his mother, Nellie Rollin Costanzo, stepfather, Victor Costanzo, and a grandson, Jonathan Barrett, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Caroline Joyce Rollin of the home; two daughters, Alyda Richardson and her husband, Clay, of Altus, Oklahoma, and Theresa Barrett of Altus, Oklahoma; a son and daughter-in-law, Pete Rollin, Jr. and Nitnoy of Killeen, Texas; ten grandchildren, William Baggett, James Rollin and wife, Suzette, Denny Cargal and wife, Amie, Jason Rollin, Zebulon Cargal and friend, Tanna, Tyler Mitchell and wife, Melissa, Caitee Cargal, Hunter Barrett, Charlcey Barrett, and Joseph Barrett; eight great grandchildren, James, Alex and Isaiah Rollin, Mylee Cargal, Madison, Kyzer “Gus” Cargal, Tucker Mitchell and Jayden Rollin; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandy Gausman and Jerry of Clarksville, Maryland; two brothers, Richard Rollin of Red Oak, Texas, and Harland “Skip” Rollin, III and wife, JoAnn, of Raleigh, North Carolina.
