Rafael Solis, Jr.

Rafael Solis, Jr., 73, Eldorado, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 in Mangum, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the Eldorado Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Rafael Solis, Jr. was born on August 3, 1949 in Edinburg, Texas to Rafael and Hortencia (Ramones) Solis. He drove truck for most of his adult life. He owned and operated Solis Brothers Trucking in Midland, Texas before moving to Eldorado. His passion though was farming, and Rafael worked farms up until his health declined. He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and drums, and singing different tunes. Rafael also had an affinity for the casino whenever he had the chance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joe Solis; and five siblings, Rudy, Pete, Freddy, Ofelia, and Lupe.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Borrego and husband, Joe; two sons, Rafael Solis, Jr., II and wife, Katie, and Roy Solis and wife, Shayna; the mother of his children, Micaela “Mickey” Solis; eight grandchildren, Erick Solis, Estevan Solis, Joy Solis, Jaci Borrego, Gavin Solis, Kellan Solis, Otto Solis, and Apollo Solis; six siblings, Vicky Rodiguez, Alicia Aranda and husband, Arturo, Raymond Solis and wife, Elia, Delores Solis, Richard Solis and wife, Teresa, Robert Solis and wife, Ramona, and Roy Solis and wife, Gloria; and many other family members and a host of friends.
