Randall Merritt Pinkham, 65, Altus, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. The family will host a reception from 5:30 – 8:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Kincannon Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Randall Merritt Pinkham was born on July 30, 1948 in Oakland, California to Gordon W. and Charis L. (Hicks) Pinkham. He enlisted into the US Air Force on January 3, 1967 and served during the Vietnam War. Randall married Linda Irene Singleton on March 29, 1975 at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. He received numerous medal including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation, and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. Randall received an Associate’s Degree from the Georgia Military College and went on to finish his Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Training and Development from Southern Illinois University in 1983. He was honorably retired as a Master Sergeant after more than 23 years on February 1, 1990. Randall enjoyed computers, his firearms, and restoring cars. He was a founding member of the Altus Auto Club, the Commodore User Group of Altus, and served proudly as a member of Voices for ebay. Randall was pleased to be a lifetime and endowment member of the NRA. His father, Gordon W. Pinkham, mother and stepfather, Charis L. and Ray Crist, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Linda I. Pinkham, of the home; four daughters, Cristin Floch and husband, Quinn, of Norman, OK, Courtney Pinkham of Altus, OK, and Randell Pinkham and Aandrea Pinkham, both of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Diana St. John and husband, John Joseph, of Phoenix, AZ and Georgie Jorgenson and husband, Gordon, of Wasilla, AK; and Ron Durall who was like a brother to him; as well as many, many friends far and wide.
