Rev. Gualberto Gonzales, 70, Altus, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Iglesia Samaria with Rev. Reggie Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Gualberto Gonzales was born on March 15, 1944 in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Guadalupe and Maria (Villarreal) Gonzales. He married Maria R. Vela on September 15, 1962 in Blair, Oklahoma. Gualberto was a hard worker and worked as a truck driver for many years for Gilt Edge. He also worked as a Receiving Clerk for Jackson County Memorial Hospital for 18 years. He served as Pastor for more than 20 years at Iglesia Samaria and enjoyed his church duties. He loved music, especially the guitar, and passed that love on to the rest of the family. Gualberto was a devoted husband and father and was adored by his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leon, David and Daniel. Gualberto is survived by his wife, Maria, of the home; five children, Gualberto Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Julye, of Purcell, OK, Oralia Garcia and husband, Romualdo, of Durant, OK, Lupe Gonzales and wife, Kathy, of Altus, OK, Olivia Fixico and husband, Chuck, of Altus, OK and Armando Gonzales of Altus, OK; 14 grandchildren, Gabriel and Adam Gonzales, both of Purcell, OK, Elisabet, Elena and Evonne Garcia, Esther Love and husband, James, and Elysia Oldham and husband, Brian, all of Durant, OK, Katrina, Aaron and Maria Gonzales, all of Altus, OK, Emilie Sperry and husband, Thomas, Shaunie Fixico, Rebeca Gonzales and Adriana Gonzales, all of Altus, OK; four great grandchildren, Lucas, Isabella, Lydia and Benjamin; two brothers, Juan Gonzales and wife, Estella, of Altus, OK and Antonio Pecina and wife, Lydia, of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Lupita Contreras and husband, Manuel of Wyoming and Maria Lopez and husband, Aurelio, of Altus, OK; two sisters-in-law, Victoria Gonzales of Altus, OK and Raquel Gonzales of Montana; and numerous other family and friends.
