Reynalda Guerra

Reynalda “Gayla” Guerra, 82, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Strong Tower Ministries. Inurnment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Gayla was born to Fredrico Bentancurt and Maria Jesusa Garcia on February 21, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She married Alex Guerra, Jr., on April 1, 1987, in Altus. Gayla was of the Catholic faith. She was a hard worker, always busy cooking or spending time with family. She took excellent care of her yard and took great pride in keeping it decorated. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing scratch off tickets. Her leisure time was spent walking in the neighborhood where she was known by all. Gayla was always up for dancing. In her younger years she won a Twist Contest. One of her fondest memories was getting to meet Elvis Presley, but her greatest treasures, next to her children, were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her infant daughter, Charlene; parents, Fredrico and Maria; brothers, Edward Bentancurt, Fredrico Bentancurt, and Robert Orta; and sisters, Maria Vrigues, Dorthy Griego, and Delia Orta preceded her in death. 

Those left to honor Gayla’s memory are her husband, Alex; daughter, Brenda Linares and husband, Manuel; sons, Chris Reeves, and wife, Rosa, David Guerra, and Alex Guerra, III; grandchildren, Anthony, Marissa, Crystal, Kimberly, Sahvanna, Fernando, and Desiree; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Kolbee, Kalum, and Hudson; sister, Silbia Sanchez from Abilene, Texas; and many other family members and friends.
