Richard H. Allen

Richard H. Allen, 88, formerly of Altus, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Westhaven Nursing Home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation services were arranged through Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Richard Harlan Allen was born June 7, 1934 in Altus, Oklahoma to Tom R. and Grace (Elliot) Allen. He graduated from Altus High School with the Class of 1952 and entered the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged four years later, returned to Altus, and continued his education at Altus Junior College, obtaining an Associate of Arts Degree. He then attended and graduated from Central State University in Edmond, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Richard moved to southern California and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, obtaining a Masters of Education Degree. Richard never married and was a high school teacher most of his adult life. He was of the Christian faith; enjoyed reading and was proud to have visited each one of the United States, excluding Hawaii and Alaska.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and four sisters. He is survived by his nephew, Steven Spear and wife, Jill.
