Richard Andrew Tygerson, 84, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Chaplain, Maj. Trent Davis officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Cremation and memorial services are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Mr. Tygerson was born on October 2, 1928 to Andrew and Margaret Tygerson in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City. He served in the United States Army and then in the United States Air Force. He served during World War II and retired from the Air Force after twenty years of service in November of 1967. Richard married Doris V. Reddick on October 7, 1955 at McClelland Air Force Base in Sacramento, California. Mr. Tygerson was an accomplished harmonica player and instructor. He was musical director and instructor of the Gateway Harmonica Club of Greater St. Louis; member of the Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica, the Pikes Peak Harpers and the Denver Mile High Harmonica Club. He also organized no-charge school concerts for grades K-6. He was a devoted husband and enjoyed working in his garden. His wife, Doris, parents, and a brother, Alden, preceded him in death. Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Easterling of Olustee, OK; three grandchildren, Carol Lee Hultz and husband, Victor, of Bogard, MO; Jimmy M. Geigle of Altus, OK; Dennis Roy Easterling and wife, Mary; five great grandchildren, Rhonda, Jessica, James, Jake and Lane; and three great great grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob and Layne.
