Richard "Rick" Vassella

Richard John “Rick” Vassella, 54, of Duncan, OK formally of Altus, OK passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 13, 2014 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Martha Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Richard John Vassella was born March 25, 1959 to Dominic and Jean Anne (Patnode) Vassella in Duluth, MN. He graduated from Altus High School in 1977. He attended Oklahoma State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Masters Degree from Webster University. He worked as a Management Analyst for the United States Air Force as the Wing's Chief of Operations Plans. Rick married Glenda Hughes December 4, 2012 in Lawton, Oklahoma. His hobbies included playing golf, car restoration and motorcycle riding. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rick is survived by his spouse, Glenda, of the home: one son, Michael Chad Vassella; two step daughters, Alyson Ketcher and husband, Lynn, and Amanda Oden; one brother, Dino Vassella and wife, Devona; four sisters, Sherri Rector and husband, Dale, Shelly Cox and husband, Kelly, Lyn Wilmes and husband, Bruce, and Kristina Vassella; two grandchildren, Jak Ketcher and August Weems; nieces and nephews, Shannon Wilson, Ashley Tiller, Kyle Cox, Devin Vassella, Darien Vassella, Ryan Wilmes , Lauren Wilmes; a special little dachshund named Morgan; and a host of friends. A special time to greet friends will be from 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Kincannon Funeral Home.
