Richard T. Garcia, 61, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Norman Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donald Burkhead officiating. Cremation services are entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Richard T. Garcia was born to Perfecto and Ignacia (Trevino) Garcia on June 4, 1953 in Alamo, Texas. He married Maria Mata in June of 1971. Richard was a brick layer for more than 10 years. He also served as a minister and had a lawn service. He loved to go to the lake, have barbeques and spend time with family and friends. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his parents, Perfecto and Ignacia Garcia; one brother, Ramiro Garcia, Sr.; and three sisters, Josie Smith, Ofhelia Garcia Cordero, and Maria Garcia. He is survived by his wife, Maria H. Garcia of 43 years; eight children, Nelda Mitchell of Arlington, Texas, Tina and Gilbert Garcia of Altus, Oklahoma, Arthur Valdez, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Ramona (Garcia) and Terrance Young of Cache, Oklahoma, Richard and Jarrett Garcia of Norman, Oklahoma, Rita and Chauncy Thomas of Lawton, Oklahoma, Ricky and Valerie Garcia of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Ryan Ray Garcia of Lawton, Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Perfecto and Else Garcia, Jr. of Altus, Oklahoma, Randy Garcia of Altus, Oklahoma, Rudy and Naomi Garcia of Olustee, Oklahoma, Mary Lou Garcia of Dallas, Texas, Ruben Garcia of Altus, Oklahoma, Lily and Glenn Wolfe of Dallas, Texas and Robert Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
