Robert Earl Emerson, 55, Blair, passed away early Wednesday morning at his home. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Erin Martinez officiating. Inurnment will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Port Gibson, Mississippi. A dinner will follow at 2:00 PM for all those in attendance. Services and cremation have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Robert Earl Emerson was born on December 30, 1958 to Allen Emerson, Sr. and Mary (Pharr) Emerson in Jackson, Mississippi. Robert served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after twenty years as a Tech Sergeant. He was a veteran of Desert Storm. He worked at Altus Air Force Base as an aircraft maintenance technician until his retirement in 2013. Robert and Amanda Reta were united in marriage on September 3, 2010. He was the owner of Emerson Signs and Sheds in Blair for twenty five years. He is preceded in death by his father. He leaves behind his wife, Amanda, of the home; mother, Mary Emerson, of Port Gibson, MS; one son, Ronald Emerson of Blair, OK; a daughter, Heidi Emerson, of Blair, OK; two step-sons, Evan Cottrell of Blair, OK and Eric Cottrell of Lawton, OK; a step-daughter, Maranda Watkins of Blair, OK; three grandchildren, Kobie Emerson, Haley Emerson and Darian Cottrell; two brothers, Allen Emerson, Jr. of and wife, Donna, of Pearl, MS and Jerry Emerson and wife Sue, of Byran, MS; and a host of friends.
