Robert Lee Gibson, 58, Altus, passed away at his home Wednesday, February 23, 2022. The family has chosen cremation and a private family “scattering of the ashes” will take place at a later date in one of his favorite spots. Services have been provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Robert was born September 16, 1963 in Altus, Oklahoma to Johnny and Maxine (Harrell) Gibson. He attended Altus Public Schools and began his career as an auto mechanic. Robert could fix any mechanical problem on most any car or truck. He worked for several car dealers and was also self employed for many years. Later in life, Robert enjoyed the life of a truck driver, ready to go wherever the job took him. He enjoyed NASCAR; all kinds of racing; drinking coffee and spending time with his family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; grandson, Konner; and his sister, Jo Ann Webb. He is survived by daughters, Crystal Eldridge and husband, Kevin, Amy Gibson, Dallas Renteria and husband, Joseph, Raina Hawpe, and Amber Wallace; sons, Robert Lee Gibson, Jr, Dakota Gibson, Dustin Gibson and wife, Jasmine, and Kenneth Gibson; three brothers, Charles Gibson, Dale Gibson, and Travis Parham; ten grandchildren, Cheyanne, Shelby, Jeremy, Kayelee, Timothy, Jacelynn, Julieaunna, Sean, Jaybrin, Jhett, Denver, Jasper, Athena, Elena, and Nicholas; one great granddaughter, Laykin; and many other relatives and friends.
